Simon Says Stamp Friendly Frolic Blog Hop

Hi, crafty friends. I’m thrilled to be part of the Friendly Frolic Release Blog Hop today. I have two cards to share today and they feature the new Picture Book Dies…

For the first card…

I started by die-cutting THIS die from THIS watercolor card stock and fun foam. I applied THIS and THIS green ink on THIS mat and sprayed it with water. I drug the white card stock piece through the ink and dried it with the heat tool. I placed it back in the leftover ink and pressed down in a couple sections creating some texture. After it was dry, I adhered it to the fun foam piece using THIS adhesive.

For the background of the card, I did the same process as the green ink but used blues and purples instead to create an ocean scene. I flicked water droplets on top for added interest as well as spraying it heavily with THIS for some shine.

I die-cut four of the new picture book dies using scraps of colored card stock and adhered them to the card using foam adhesive on some to create levels of depth. I used some enamel eye stickers for their eyes and white heat embossed a sentiment from THIS stamp set on a strip of black card stock.

For the second card…

I stamped THIS new background and then flipped the paper upside down and stamped it again. By doing this, you can get a whole new look from your background stamp. I stamped it with THIS ink on THIS card stock for a tone on tone look.

I die-cut all of the new picture book dinosaur dies using scraps of colored card stock and added THIS for some shine. I used some enamel eye stickers for their eyes and clear heat embossed a sentiment from THIS stamp set stamped with THIS black ink. I filled in the open parts of the sentiment with THIS black glaze pen to make it stand out.

I love both your cards. I like the bright colors. I love the song where “wild thing” comes from. I especially like the way you used the leafy frame die to create an underwater scene. Nice work!
