Friendly Frolic Release by Simon Says Stamp

Hi, crafty friends. The latest release from Simon Says Stamp is now available. It’s called Friendly Frolic and it’s jam packed full of awesome products. Today’s cards focus on THIS new stamp set along with THIS new background die.

For the first card,

I die-cut the background die three times from white card stock and adhered them together. I cut small strips of colored card stock to adhere to the back of the openings, creating a rainbow pattern. I filled in all the holes with THIS for some shine. I stamped, colored, and cut out one of the images from THIS new stamp set and adhered it to the background along with a black strip of card stock to anchor the image. I stamped a coordinating sentiment on the image and coated the flowers with THIS for some shine. I adhered the entire panel to a gray note card.

Here’s a closer look…

For the second card…

I used THIS same die for the background but made an impression in the card stock using THIS instead of cutting it out. I also inked the die with THIS ink before running it through the die-cut machine to give it a faux letterpress look. I stamped, colored, and cut out a different image from THIS set and adhered it to a black circle cut with THIS die. I white heat embossed a sentiment from the same stamp set under the image and used the same circle die set to create a mat. I added THESE enamel hearts to the background pattern for some added interest. I finished off the card by adding a heavy coat of THIS to the pot and adhered the entire panel to a green note card.

Here’s a closer look…

I hope this has inspired you to use your background dies in a different way.

Fabulous cards, loving the colours & shimmer under the die cute on that first card & how pretty the hearts look with the die cute on the second card. The sentiment, very true for me, is very punny & I think lots of people will identify with it. Thanks for sharing.
