Simon Says Stamp July 2018 Card Kit

Hello. Today’s cards feature a fun floating sentiment technique using products from THIS new card kit.

For the first card…

I stamped the watermelon image from THIS stamp set (included in the card kit) multiple times, filling a background. I quickly colored in the images with THESE and added THIS to the black seeds for some shine. I die-cut a circle using THIS die from the background and a card front. I sandwiched a piece of acetate in between the layers that I stamped a coordinating sentiment on using THIS ink. I finished off the card by adding a black strip of card stock along the bottom.

Here’s a closer look…

I love how the acetate creates the illusion of a floating sentiment…

For the second card…

I stamped the sun image from the same stamp set multiple times using THIS and THIS ink to create a background. I cut a portion out of the background and note card and sandwiched a piece of acetate in between that I stamped a coordinating sentiment on, just like I did in the first card. I added two strips of yellow card stock to the top and bottom of the window and added a sprinkling of the kit’s sequins. I also rounded the bottom two corners with THIS.

Here’s a closer look..

I also decorated the inside…

…by adding a piece of orange card stock that I die-cut with one of THESE circle dies. I stamped the same sun image inside the circle but stamped some sunglasses on top.

That’s all for today. I hope this inspires you to create some floating sentiments with acetate. Happy Crafting!
