Decorated Envelopes

Hi, crafty friends. I wanted to share a quick way to add a little something to your envelopes. I used THESE envelopes for my examples today…

I love the look of coordinating envelopes but don’t always have time to add matching art to them. So I wanted to have a few on hand that were already decorated and ready to go. Since I don’t know which cards they will be paired with, I wanted to create something simple that would work with any style card.

I decided to use the center cut backgrounds to decorate the front and the flap of the envelopes. These backgrounds are so unique because the center of the design pop out of the stamp and you can use that image separately or with the design. I love the option it gives. I removed the center from all of the backgrounds and stamped each design on the front of the envelope using a similar color of ink for a tone on tone look.

For the first envelope, I used THIS stamp with THIS ink…

I used the center images of the backgrounds to stamp on the flap of the envelope to tie it all together…

The next envelope uses THIS stamp with THIS ink…

The opening in the background is the perfect spot to address the envelope…

I hope this inspires you to create a few decorated envelopes. If you don’t have any center cut backgrounds, you could always use masking paper to mask off the center section of any background stamp.
