Hero Arts 2018 Catalog Release Blog Hop

Hi, crafty friends. I’m honored to be joining a talented group of artists to showcase new products from Hero Arts. I created three cards today featuring mini ink cube backgrounds…

I love Hero Arts mini ink cubes. They come in fun colors, perfect for travel, and cost effective. I used them on all three cards in different ways to make some simple backgrounds. I also used THIS new adorable stamp set on all the cards today.

The first background is super simple and I used the mini ink cubes to swipe colors across a background…

I die-cut the center of the panel using one of THESE heart dies and adhered the mice to the heart. I stamped a coordinating sentiment and added foam adhesive behind the panel but not the heart piece to add some fun dimension.

The second background uses the mini ink cubes as a stamp…

I pressed down the ink cubes three or four times each to create a quilt pattern. I stamped the mouse and sentiment on a circle cut with THIS die. I colored in the image with Copics and added some of THIS on top of the teacup for some shine. I added a larger circle behind the stamped circle using the same circle die set. I finished off the card by adhering three rectangle frames created with THESE dies. I used the largest rectangle along with the second to larges rectangle to create a die-cut frame.

For the last card, I used the mini ink cubes to create a design…

I stamped the edge of the ink pads randomly all over the mini tea cup card created with THIS die. Since the ink pad is small it creates small lines that add a lot of texture. I added a mouse to the center and a few hearts cut with THIS die. I added some of THIS on top for some shine.

I stamped the inside to tie everything together…

I hope this inspires you to create some backgrounds using your mini ink cubes.

Sweet cards! I have friends who shudder at the thought of using a mouse on a card, but I think they are adorable.

Thank you for demonstrating different ways to use ink cubes! I pretty much got rid of all of my full size pads and use ink cubes exclusively so I really appreciated this post. Love the grid background you made – so cool!
