Hi there. I’m stepping out of my comfort zone today and sharing some cards featuring stitching. Before I share, please know that my sewing skills are not strong. I was really just experimenting and having fun. Isn’t that what crafting is all about!? I created two cards using THIS stamp set that is included in THIS card kit from Simon Says Stamp. The kindness sentiments won my heart…
For the first card…
I stamped the image and the smaller sentiment on to a piece of Neenah White Cardstock using THIS ink and my MISTI. I used THESE watercolors to color a few areas of the image. After it was dry, I used a paper piercer to poke holes along the leaves, the center of the flowers, and the sentiment. I used a variety of floss to add stitching to enhance the design…
I finished off the card by cutting THIS frame from some of THIS cardstock. I adhered them together and adhered them on top of the background. I added THIS on top of the flowers for some shine and adhered the entire piece to a black note card. I colored in the open dots in the image using THIS black glaze pen.
The second card…
…was created the same way just using a different sentiment. After I stamped the sentiment, I dry embossed one of THESE hearts around the sentiment to frame it. I also added a rainbow of hearts and topped them with THIS for some shine. I used THIS cardstock for the frame.
I hope this has inspired you to add some stitching details to your next card. Thanks so much for joining me today.
