Stretching Your Border Dies

Hi there. Today’s card shows how to stretch your border die to get a faux cover plate look. Cover plate dies create gorgeous backgrounds but can be costly. I achieved the same look with THIS single border die….

I die-cut the border several times in a row from a piece of white cardstock. By repeating the pattern, it gives the look of a background die. I die-cut the piece and a piece of Stick-It Adhesive using one of THESE hearts . I adhered the Stick-It to the back of the heart and poured a variety of colors of glitter on top for an inlaid glitter look.

I created a background from the border die as well. I used THIS embossing mat in my die-cut machine to impress the image on a piece of THIS cardstock. I love the subtle texture it gives…

I finished off the card by white heat embossing a sentiment from THIS set and adhering everything to one of THESE note cards.

I hope you give this faux cover plate technique a try.

Thanks so much for visiting and have a great day!
