Hi friends. I’ve been eager to try out the large background stamps from Simon Says Stamp.
I white heat embossed each one on to a piece of THIS watercolor cardstock. I applied a variety of Distress Ink on to a piece of acetate and spritzed them with water. I flipped it onto the embossed piece and pulled it across the pattern like a squeegee. I went back and forth to ensure a vibrant color. You could get a softer look by pulling it across only once.
For the first card…
I embossed the Emma Background and used Spiced Marmalade, Abandoned Coral, and Worn Lipstick Distress Inks. I used THIS word die for the sentiment.
For the second card…
I embossed the Elinor Background and used Spun Sugar, Picked Raspberry, and Seedless Preserves Distress Inks. I used THIS word die for the sentiment.
For the third card…
I embossed the Elizabeth Background and used Squeezed Lemonade, Twisted Citron, and Peacock Feathers Distress Inks. I used THIS word die for the sentiment.
I finished off the cards with a sprinkling of coordinating sequins and mounted the entire piece to a top folding black note card. Here’s a closer look…
I always like to die-cut a white panel for the inside of any black card I create so there is a spot to write the message on instead of using a white gel pen on the dark cardstock…
I hope this inspires you to do a fun background on your next card. Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!
