Coloring Vellum with Colored Pencils

Hello and Merry Christmas! Remember the adorable retro Santa image I used to create my own gift wrap HERE? Well I decided to use the same image and create a card…

I recently purchased THESE colored pencils after trying some out at a recent craft retreat. I love them. They go on like butter and are so easy to blend using THIS blender pencil. I was playing around and trying them out on different surfaces and loved the way they look on vellum. I stamped the Santa image on a piece of vellum and colored it in with these pencils on the back side.

I placed the stamped piece behind the window I created using one of THESE dies. I heat embossed THIS pattern on the background in white for a tone-on-tone background. I adhered the whole panel to a kraft note card created with THIS cardstock. I heat embossed a sentiment from THIS set in white on to a piece of black cardstock and cut THIS die using some red cardstock to go behind the sentiment.

I hope this inspires you to try these colored pencils on vellum. Also, I found THIS sharpener to be very helpful when I do a lot of coloring.

Thanks for stopping by. I hope you have a wonderful Holiday.
