Lacing Cards

Hello crafty friends. I’m all about stretching your supplies and I wanted to find another use for the plush dies from Simon Says Stamp. Since the dies cut an outline border of holes that is intended for stitching, I thought they would make great lacing cards for kids to practice their fine motor skills…

I die-cut the ice cream plush die using chipboard and some patterned paper from THIS pad. I used THIS to adhere the paper and seal it. My son has some store bought lacing cards that I used the laces from but you could use shoe laces or any type of string you want. One thing to note is I did use a hole punch to make the holes a little larger so the string would slide in easily.

For the bottom of the cones, I applied THIS ink on top and then spritzed on some water to resemble drops of melting ice cream.

I think these would be fun for any kid! Speaking of kids…

Simon Says Stamp hosted a Kid’s Challenge HERE. The theme was Anything Goes with Glitter. My niece was SO excited to join in on the fun….

Here’s her glitter project…

She used THIS glitter to add to the fruit of THIS set….

The contest has now ended but I encourage you to let your kids join in on the creative fun!

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!
