SSS A Reason To Smile

Hello and welcome. Today I’m sharing a card set I created using the new goodies from Simon Says Stamp’s “A Reason To Smile” release…

I decided to use some spring colors on my card set because I’m tired of winter and snow here in Ohio…

I wanted to have a one layer card with a few embellishments, so I masked the center of each card panel using by cutting THIS die from THIS masking paper and stamping THIS new Gingham Background Stamp. I die-cut the entire panel using THIS rectangle stitched die. By placing the negative masking piece on top, I was able to stamp my flowers from THIS new stamp set and the sentiments from THIS new stamp set.

I colored in the flowers using THESE sponge daubers and three different colors of Tsukineko ink pads

I added some glossy accents on top of the leaves for some shine and finished off the cards by scattering some coordinating embellishments. Here’s a closer look…

You can check out the entire release HERE. My favorites? Definitely THIS Gingham Background Stamp and the dies that you use with felt, like THIS adorable bunny one. Stop back by tomorrow for a fun blog hop and to see another project using more goodies from this release.

Love your cards. Here in NJ, I'm ready for spring too! The gingham is such a pretty backdrop drop for the flower. Thanks for sharing your creativity.

Beautiful! I love how you masked the card and made your own matching background! It is gorgeous and clever! Thanks for sharing a bit of spring, I am tired of the cold snow in Virginia!
