Hi there. Have you seen THESE new dies that coordinate with Tim Holtz’s Crazy Birds stamp set? They are awesome! Most dies cut out an image leaving a white border around it…not these guys…they cut right up to the image. You can cut out the wings, eyes, and beak for added dimension.
Bird Crazy Thinlets Dies can be found HERE |
Here’s the card I made. I think it’s one of my favorites…
I started by stamping the birds on to a piece of Neenah White Cardstock using THIS ink and heat embossing each image with THIS embossing powder. I love the shine it adds to all the details and really makes the images pop. If you want to pop up the eyes and beaks like I did, you need to stamp two of each image like I did HERE. For the background of the card, I used THIS cardstock and added a bit of THIS ink to the edges.
Next I used THESE watercolors to color the birds. I started with more concentrated color towards the edges of the birds and then added water as I continued to achieve an ombre look. I added watercolor to the beaks of the second set of birds and die-cut them out along with the eyes. I added black fun foam behind them before adhering them into place for added dimension.
Speaking of dimension, I used THIS amazing embossing folder on a piece of THIS cardstock and inked it up with THIS ink.

That is such a cute card, Heather, and it's ingenious how you created the bird's nest!
