Watercolor Challenge

Hi! I don’t think the watercolor trend is slowing down anytime soon, so I thought it would be a perfect fit for the next challenge over on the Little Tangles Blog. Here is my card for the challenge…

I started by stamping THIS stamp on to some watercolor cardstock using VersaMark ink. I heat embossed it using white embossing powder. Heat embossing is a great way to keep the color in the right spot and prevent bleeding. I chose sentiments from THIS stamp set to heat emboss inside the sign to give it a “love”theme. I like to mix sentiments from different sets to create a whole new look. It’s a great way to stretch your stamps! I used THESE watercolors to add color the sign image. I let the image dry completely and covered the gray with glossy accents. This acts as a mask as I moved on to the background.
For the sky, I used much more water to get a soft look. I die-cut the card panel using THIS die and die-cut some clouds from the same watercolor cardstock using THIS die. I stamped a greeting from THIS set using Black Dye Ink and added a few epoxy hearts. I attached the whole piece to a Hero Arts note card
A closer look…

I hope you can play along with the challenge. We’ve switched from two challenges a month, to one. This gives extra time to create. Gotta love that! Click HERE for more information.

Thanks for stopping by! Have a great day!
