Stretching Your Stamps-Hearts

Hi there. On my last blog post, I decided to giveaway THIS stamp set…

I thought it was a perfect set to pair up with the new Better Together release from Simon Says Stamp. I wanted to create a card to show you just that and show you how to look at your stamps in a different way.

When I first saw all of the hearts, I thought they would make great balloons…

I created balloons by stamping a smaller heart below each of the larger hearts upside down. This creates a bottom to the balloon. I thought all of the balloons would be fun paired with THIS monster stamp set. For the coloring, I chose to use my Peerless Watercolor. I love how vibrant they are! Adding glossy accents on top gives it the realistic look of a balloon…

Speaking of watercolor, I used the same colors but with much more water for a toned down version of the same card…

I like to emboss my images when I watercolor because it allows the color to pool up in one area. I embossed the sentiment as well to make it pop…

To finish off the card, I used my paper piercer to punch small holes under each balloon to pull my colored string through. Easy Peasy.
I had so much fun with this stamp set that I decided to EXTEND the deadline on the Giveaway! You now have until Thursday at Midnight EST. Just post a comment to this post or HERE to be entered to win. That two chances per person!
Speaking of Giveaways…the WINNER from THIS post is Barbra! Congrats. Please use the CONTACT ME button on the top of the blog to email me with your address so I can get out your goodies to you!
Thanks for stopping by!

What a super idea to use the tiny heart at the bottom to create the balloon! Love that monstah, too. 🙂
