Hello! Yesterday was World Card Making Day. I didn’t get a chance to play until late last night but I did manage to create three cards using one stamp set. I don’t know about you but sometimes I get new stamps and use them once (sometimes not at all…eek!) and then put them away. I really wanted to create multiple cards to see how I could stretch the use of my stamps. THIS adorable set is the one I used for all three cards…
When I was thinking of other ways I could use Milk and Cookies stamps, I immediately thought about Santa…
I die-cut a Label Die from Papertrey Ink from Kraft Cardstock and created a yummy scene for Santa by coloring, stamping, and die-cutting the cook and milk images. I stamped the Santa (from an older Simon Says Stamp card kit) and added Liquid Pearls to the top and bottom of his had for some texture. I stamped the sentiment in black from THIS set at the bottom of the label. I also used White Enamel Accents for the milk and left the bubbles for some fun. I cut slits in the top rim of the milk glass so I could weave through the straw. I added Glossy Accents to the straw for some shine. Some Doodlebug Christmas Paper finishes off the card.
Here’s a closer look…
At this point I was stumped on how to create another card from the same stamp but I had an umbrella stamp set already laying out from THIS card and thought who wouldn’t like it if it were raining chocolate chip cookies!? I like to call this card…. “Cloudy with a chance of…cookies.
Combining stamp sets with other non related sets is a great way to get more mileage out of your supplies!
For this card, I stamped the cookie images from the set on some kraft cardstock using black ink. I cut them out and scattered them on the background to look like rain. I added the smiley face from the set to the umbrella after cutting it out from THIS patterned paper. I added glossy accents to the umbrella for some shine and I dry embossed the clouds after cutting them out using THIS die. I stamped the other sentiment from the stamp under the umbrella and mounted the entire piece to a Hero Arts note card.
There you have it! Three completely different cards using one stamp set. I hope this has inspired you to stretch your stamps. I hope you had a creative filled World Card Making Day!
Thanks so much for stopping by!
