Simon Says Stamp August 2018 Card Kit

Hi, crafty friends. Happy Saturday! I’m popping in today with a card I created with THIS new card kit…

The kit contains THIS gorgeous background. I stamped it on the pink card stock (included in the kit) using THIS ink for a tone-on-tone look. I cut it it down to 1 x 4 inch strips and adhered them down to a card front covered with black card stock. I used foam tape only on the top, middle, and last strips to give a stair step of dimension. I also kept the pattern continuous. I made sure to number the back of the strips after cutting to keep them in order.

I stamped one of the images from the stamp set using THIS ink and clear heat embossed it. I did this to prevent THIS watercolor I used to color in the image from bleeding into areas I didn’t want. I also stamped a coordinating sentiment from the set as well as a heart image. To finish off the card, I added Nuvo drops as well as THIS for some shine.
