More Picture Book Die Inspiration

Hi there, crafty friends. Simon Says Stamp recently released three new picture book animal dies and I’m a big fan. I’ve shared two other projects using the otter HERE and the lion HERE, in case you missed them. The final animal from THIS release is THIS cute squirrel…

I die-cut the squirrel die from three different browns. I wanted to pop him up so I created a base for the pieces to be adhered to by tracing the die-cut image on to a piece of cardstock and fussy cutting it out. I used THIS new stencil and applied THIS through it on to THIS paper, creating a tone-on-tone look. I love the subtle texture it gives. I gold heat embossed the sentiment from THIS stamp set under the squirrel and stamped some acorns from the same set. I created a mat piece and added gold embossing powder to the edges to match the sentiment. I adhered some twine towards the bottom and adhered it to THIS card stock that I applied THIS ink to.

Here’s a closer look…

P.S. This card was featured in Simon Says Stamp’s Facebook Live video showing the new release HERE.

Thanks for spending some time with me today. Have a great day.
