Envelope Must-Haves

Hi. We spend so much time on our handmade cards that I wanted to dedicate a post to the envelopes we put them in. I’ll be sharing my favorite products for envelopes to give that finishing touch and tie everything together.

ENVELOPES

First, let’s talk about the envelopes….

For standard size cards, I have two brands that are my favorite. The first are THESE from Simon Says Stamp.

Not only do they come in gorgeous colors, but they also have metallic ones that are stunning…

My favorite part is the adhesive strip on the inside of the flap. No licking required. Yay!

I also use THESE envelopes from Hero Arts. I LOVE the curved flap. So classy.

For other size of cards, I like to use THIS envelope maker tool. It has easy step by step instructions to make almost any size of envelope.

DECORATING THE ENVELOPE
There are several products on the market to decorate your envelopes. THIS die set does double duty…

It can cut fun borders/sentiments from the flap as well as a liner to adhere to the inside of the envelope!

THE FLAP
You can also stamp on the flap of the envelope. You could use any stamp for this but, I find I don’t use my wood block stamps enough and this is a great way to put them to use. I’ve been using THIS one a lot lately…

THIS stamp set was designed to fit perfectly on the flap of the envelope…

THIS and THIS stamp set are perfect to add to any happy mail….

Plan It Out Loud has some fun stickers to put on the flap of envelopes. Check out their Etsy shop HERE.

ADDRESSING THE ENVELOPE

THIS Envelope Addressing Guide is perfect to keep your writing straight when addressing your envelope…

THIS stamp set is also perfect for that…

Have you heard of Bossy Joscie? She makes awesome custom stamps. I’ve purchased several stamps from her as gifts as well as my return address stamp. Click HERE to check out her store.

DON’T FORGET THE POSTAGE

I can’t encourage you enough to send the cards you make and put a smile on someone’s face. If you have to purchase postage, why not add a cute stamp!? Here are a few of my favorite stamps right now from USPS (CLICK ON IMAGE FOR LINK)…

Don’t forget the international postage too. I just bought some of THESE to send to crafty friends that live in England.

SEAL IT UP

There’s one last thing I do almost every time I send out a card. I use washi tape to seal up the flap on the back. There is a bunch of different washi tapes on the market, but my favorite by far is the doodlebug washi tapes. The come off the roll easily and the designs are adorable. Here are my top three most used tapes from them that can go with a variety of style of cards.(CLICK ON IMAGE FOR LINK)

I hope this inspires you to add some love to your envelopes.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!

What a lovely review Heather. It is really something I need to get better at doing, envelopes. The coloured envelopes are great but hard to get hold of here in England in A2 size so I make my own from 12 x 12 papers and the WRMK envelope board. The SSS stamps for the flap are on my list for my next order (fab set). And I love to use Washi to seal the flap too. Doodlebug have gorgeous designs. We are lucky to have such a wonderful choice of products to make the envelopes as pretty as the card 😃
