Boy’s Birthday Card

Hello. I’m a big fan of creating cards for kids but sometimes I struggle when it comes to boy cards.

I used THIS paper pad for my color inspiration. It’s a zoo themed paper pack and the colors felt masculine to me. I used the patterned paper to cut out a background piece as well as three balloons from THIS die. I stamped and cut out the adorable elephant from THIS set and colored him with Copic markers. I stamped and colored a party hat from THIS stamp set to place on top of his head and die-cut THIS die a few times out of THIS cardstock. This was not only my sentiment but a good place to anchor the image on. I finished off the card with a coat of THIS to make the balloons shine.

Here’s a closer look…

So if you’re like me and sometimes struggle with masculine cards, try taking inspiration from the products themselves. This card design would also be fun for a little girl just by changing up colors.

Thanks for spending some time with me today. I’ll be back soon…

This is super sweet and a gorgeous card for a little boy! I think it's such a skill to use a patterned paper as a background without it overpowering the card but you nailed it. The neutral elephant really pops and the balloons don't get lost either. Love it! 😍
