Distress Ink “Dyed” Die Cuts

Hello. Today’s card features die cuts that have been “dyed” with Distress Ink…

I cut a bunch of flowers and leaves from THIS die set using THIS watercolor paper. You will want to use watercolor paper to hold up to the moisture. I applied a variety of Distress Ink onto THIS craft sheet and spritzed with water. Then I placed each die-cut into the puddle of ink. I let it sit for a few seconds before removing it. After they dried a bit, I dipped them in again to achieve a bold color. If you want more subtle color, just apply more water and swipe through lightly.

For the leaves, I did two colors for some variation. I started with crashed pistachio and then dipped lightly into mowed lawn. For the background, I used THIS embossing paste through THIS stencil. It gives it a ghost-like look which adds a bit of interest without being too distracting…

I white heat embossed a sentiment from THIS stamp set on a strip of black cardstock. I used THIS to add shimmer to the flowers as well as enamel dots to finish off the flowers. Here’s a closer look…

I hope this inspires you to try out this Distress Ink “Dyed” technique. Thanks for visiting today.
