Alcohol Ink on Yupo

Hello there. Did you know that today was National Tie-Dye Day!? I thought it would be fun to create a tie-dye look using alcohol inks on THIS Yupo paper.
Yupo paper is a synthetic surface suited for alcohol ink/mixed media techniques that is non-porous and water resistant. This is a new product to me so I broke out my alcohol inks and did big drops on the surface in rainbow order.

I’m still learning but it was fun experimenting. I decided to die-cut the 5×7 panel using THIS die to create a frame. I will use the center portion on another card. For the background, I applied some of THIS embossing paste through THIS stencil on a piece of black cardstock for some subtle texture.

I stamped, colored, and cut out THESE animal images along with a matching sentiment. I adhered the animals along the bottom of the frame adding a heart to the penguin. Here’s a closer look…

I hope this inspires you to try out Yupo paper with your alcohol inks.
Thanks for stopping by! Have a great tie-dye day!

I have seen a number of cards that use Yupo and alcohol inks recently, and they look like so much fun to do. I love your rainbow frame and of course the cute animals tucked inside. I may need to get my hands on some of that paper and those inks…. 🙂
