Cards for a Cause

Hello there. One of my favorite things about creating cards is that I can send them to put a smile on someone’s face. I love this hobby and one of my favorite things to do is spread kindness. My sweet friend, Jennifer McGuire is asking for cards to be sent in for a Cincinnati school that was recently vandalized. She wants to deliver cards for the staff and teachers along with some treats. This is a great way to show support. I created a few cards for the cause…

To create these cards, I cut THIS die from a sheet of THIS masking paper. I applied it to the center of a piece of white cardstock cut with THIS die. I used various colors of ink with a circle stamp from THIS stamp set and alternated colors while stamping around the image. I heat embossed a sentiment from THIS stamp set on a coordinating smaller heart.

I also die-cut a coordinating hearts for the inside to write a message…

Here’s more information about the cause from Jennifer

“Want a REAL way to make a difference in this world and combat the hate? Here is your chance!

A few weeks ago, I mentioned that a school in Cincinnati was vandalized with hateful messages. I wanted to do something to let the teachers and staff there know that they are not alone. (Here is the story: http://www.cincinnati.com/…/after-vandalism-commu…/96939792/)
I talked to the school. They have 200 teachers and staff members at Withrow High School. This is a somewhat a lower income school and often these teachers work tirelessly and don’t get spoiled enough. I am collecting a card for each of these hard workers. I am going to deliver them along with enough Servatis (the good stuff!) coffee and donuts for them all. I plan to deliver around February 28th.
Want to help? You are welcome to send a card! Handmade is great, store bought is fine too. Please write a message inside (*without political references*) . Make the message thoughtful and uplifting… letting the person know they are loved, supported, valued, etc. Remind them that we appreciate what they do. That we stand with them. If you are a teacher, mention that! And sign your name (first name only if you want) and what city/state you are from. If you want, your kids can make the cards and say something kind, too!
You can mail the card to me:

P.O. BOX 42820
Montgomery, OH 45242
I need the cards to me by February 24 so I can get it all ready. I will put them in a fresh envelope so your address will not be on it. Also, I will be paying to have donuts and coffee for all the staff, too. If you want to include money for that, you are welcome to. But you don’t have to. “
Thanks for stopping by and don’t forget to share some handmade kindness.
