I Love SSS- Wrap Up Day

Hi there. I'm wrapping up I Love Simon Says Stamp Week with two card shares ...
I love stretching the use of my stamps and wanted to share an example of using a Holiday stamp all year round. I stamped the triangle pattern repeatedly from THIS set to create a bold background on this holiday card...
I added color to some of the triangles using THESE colored pencils. I scribbled a bit of color at one end of a triangle and then pulled the color out using water and a paintbrush. I finished off the card by adding THIS die-cut word cut from THIS foil cardstock and heat embossing a sentiment from THIS set underneath.

Since this was a non-traditional holiday color combo, I used it to create a birthday card too. I plan on giving this one to my son. I think clean and graphic cards work great for masculine cards...
I stamped the same triangle pattern repeatedly, but this time I only stamped a strip of the pattern. I colored in some of the triangles the same way and added a sentiment to the bottom and top of the strip with THIS stamp set. I mounted the piece to a black note card.

Here's a closer look...

I hope this inspires you to stretch your holiday stamps and use them for all year occasions. Thanks for stopping by and joining me for I Love Simon Says Stamp Week. It's been so fun!

I Love SSS- Day Four

Here is today's card...
I started by embossing THESE snowflake dies on to a piece of THIS glimmery cardstock using THIS embossing pad. Instead of cutting out the snowflakes, it just pushes the design into the paper. I taped all of them together using THIS tape to cut down on time. In the center of the panel, I die-cut a stitched circle from THIS die set and backed it with a patterned paper from THIS pad and a piece of vellum on top. The pattern was a bit busy for this design so by adding the vellum on top, it tones it down a bit.
I die-cut THIS larger snowflake from silver glitter paper and adhered it inside the circle. THIS set was used to stamp additional elements for the cards as well as the sentiment. It's one of my all time favorite stamp sets and coordinates beautifully with the new snowflake dies.

That's all for today. I will be back tomorrow with Wrap Up Day. Thanks for joining me.
