Crafting with Kids

Hello. Some of you may know that I’m a big advocate of crafting with kids. My niece crafts with me a lot and I do a feature here on my blog called, “Taylor’s Take” showcasing her work. (You can find more about that HERE.) I recently sat down with my four year old son to do a bit of crafting and he helped me make these cards…

I was creating THIS card and had a few stamped background pieces left over and Aiden used THESE Zig markers to color in the ice cream images. You can see him in action over on my Instagram HERE. After he was done coloring, I gave him a paintbrush and water to activate the watercolor. I thought they turned out so cute so I made them into cards by adding a greeting using THIS stamp set and THIS die.
I stamped the card base of the first card with THIS Holiday Background Stamp. I love stretching the use of Holiday intended stamps to work all year round…

I cut the sweet word die out of some black fun foam for added dimension…

You can turn any artwork created by your kids into cards. I hope this inspires you to create with a little one in your life. Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!

What I love about your card is the fact that I can look at what I already have and create something beautiful. Thank you for your ideas.

Well didn't he do a great job of these! They look really fab! I think Zigs are a perfect medium for kids as it's easy for them to add water and get the colour moving around. Bet he had fun making them and how lovely for you to share in it.
