Unexpected Shaker Elements

Hello there. Little Tangles (The Neat and Tangled Challenge Blog) just announced their latest challenge and it’s all about Shakers/Sequins…

I’ve been eager to use THIS sweet (pun intended) donut set for awhile. The images are adorable and it got me thinking about…well…donuts. LOL What goes with donuts? Sprinkles!  I decided to use this unexpected shaker element to put a smile on the recipient’s face…
Make sure to check out the card in action HERE. I think the little boy looks like my youngest son so I plan to make several of these to spoil his preschool teachers. I will include a Dunkin’ Donuts gift card on the inside.
To create this card…
I die-cut THIS die from black cardstock to create the frame around the shaker card. I adhered a piece of acetate behind that and then adhered another frame cut from fun foam to the acetate. I wiped down the piece with THIS anti-static bag and then filled it with sprinkles (I found the sprinkles in the cake decorating aisle at Target). I adhered it to a white card base to seal the shaker bits. I stamped the little boy in the donut image using THIS ink and clear heat embossed it. I colored it in using THESE markers and used foam tape to adhere it to the acetate. I stamped the coordinating sentiment on a piece cut with THIS die and added a few heart images included in the stamp set to finish it off.
I hope this inspires you to add some unexpected shaker elements to your next shaker card. Be sure to check out the challenge HERE to see more inspiration from the design team and to enter your project.
Have a great day!
