Window Gift Card Holder

Welcome. I’m sharing a gift idea that is perfect for Mother’s Day and can be used for any occasion by stamping a different sentiment…

I know some people don’t like giving gift cards as gifts because they think it’s impersonal. I actually like giving them because it makes me happy to think that the recipient can pick out whatever they choose. I got my mom a Target gift card as part of her Mother’s Day gift (our favorite place to shop) and wanted to create a fun way to present it, which makes it more personal.

There are many gift card holder dies on the market, but I really like THIS one by Avery Elle. It doesn’t come with the window front like you see. I created that by pairing it up with THIS die. By combining your dies, you can get a whole new look from them. By creating the opening in the front, I was able to adhere a piece of acetate behind and stamp greetings from THIS mother’s day stamp set using Black Staz-On ink. I just love the window look it creates…

I used the gift cards as inspiration. I loved the colors so I used them when picking out the patterned paper to cut the envelope…

Since this gift card had the word MOM on it, I “erased” the mom in the sentiment using an alcohol swab on the acetate…

Using double sided patterned paper is great because it still looks pretty when the gift card is removed…

Here’s a look at the back of the envelopes…
I hope this has inspired you to create your own custom gift card holder. Thanks for stopping by!
