Watercolor Stripes plus GIVEAWAY

Hello friends. I’m sharing a few cards today featuring a quick way to add color to a stamped background…

I like to stamp a small image from a stamp set repeatedly to create my own custom patterned paper. I stamped two small bird images from THIS stamp set on to pieces of THIS cardstock and heat embossed them using THIS clear embossing powder.
Coloring is not my strong suit. So I did stripes of watercolor using several shades of Distress Ink. I made sure to dry each one before moving on to the next to minimize the blending of the colors.

I punched out a heart from THIS vellum and heat embossed a coordinating sentiment in white on to THIS die-cut. I finished off the card by adding THIS on top of the heart for some sparkle and adhered one of THESE to the sentiment strip.

A closer look…

How about a bonus card!? I can’t seem to resist sneaking in a rainbow. 😉 I wanted to do the same design, but mix up the colors and paint the stripes horizontally…

Now how about a GIVEAWAY?
I have an extra one of THESE stamp sets to giveaway. Just leave a comment below telling me your favorite card from today’s post and I will pick one lucky winner. You have until Monday, May 16th at midnight EST to enter. Good Luck!
Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!

Absolutely Love your cards. What a great idea. Definately am going to try this. I just love birds and since coloring isn't my strong suit either you did an amazing job with using the stripes. LOVE it! Thank you so much for a chance at such a beautiful giveaway. Just adore this stamp set. One stamp i don't have is a birdhouse. I love everything to do with birds.

I think I like the blue vertical striped card the best. Great color combinations and such a simple concept to use as a background. Sometimes I just need to KISS.
