Little Tangles Watercolor Challenge

Hi friends. I’m back today sharing the card I created for the Little Tangles latest challenge…

I like that you can use so many mediums to achieve a watercolor look. I chose to use Distress Inks…

I pressed down each ink color on to my kraft mat. Starting with Picked Raspberry Distress Ink, I sprayed some water on top, picked some color up with my brush and painted a small amount on to a piece of watercolor cardstock. I dried it completely with my heat gun before moving on to the next color (Spiced Marmalade). I repeated the same process with the rest of the colors, making each stripe of color wider than the previous one.

Next, I used my paintbrush to flick on clean water droplets and waited a few seconds before blotting it with a paper towel. This lifts the color and creates “bleached” spots. Here’s a closer look…

I stamped the sentiment from THIS stamp set using THIS ink and ran the piece through my die-cut machine using THIS die. I adhered the heart down with some black fun foam underneath for dimension.I colored the paintbrush and added a coat of THIS on top for some shine. I finished off the card using some of THESE sequins.
