“Coloring” with Mini Ink Cubes

Hello and welcome. Today’s cards show a quick way to add color to a background…

I stamped three robots from THIS adorable set repeatedly on a piece of Neenah White Cardstock using THIS ink to create a background. After debating what kind of medium to use to color all the robots, I decided to use mini ink cubes for super quick coloring. Since the images are playful, I thought the “artsy” look that the mini ink cubes give would be a good fit. To add the color, I simply used the ink cube like a stamp and pressed the ink on to each robot, rotating colors.
For this “boy” version of the card,  I used Maliblue, Cracked Pistachio, and Spiced Marmalade mini inks…

For the “girl” version, I used Neon Pink, Neon Red, and Neon Orange mini inks…

A closer look…

I like the texture that the distress ink cube produced (orange)…
I finished off the cards by heat embossing a coordinating sentiment and adding a heart that I die-cut from THIS set. I colored it with a coordinating ink.
I hope this inspires you to give mini ink cube coloring a try on your next project. Speaking of coloring…

Looks like you are all ready for sending some kids some cute Valentine's day cards! I think I have a robot stamp somewhere, but I don't know about a similar sentiment. I know a boy who just might like this card idea. Do you mind if I case your idea?
