Simple Watercolor Cards

Hello. So I've been taking THIS class and learning so much. I made a couple of simple watercolor cards inspired by Laura Bassen's lesson on the second day of class...
I used a variety of Distress Ink colors and  painted on stripes of color on to a piece of watercolor cardstock. I dried each stripe before moving on to the next color. I used THIS favorite sentiment set and heat embossed a greeting. I kept the rest of the card simple with no embellishments to let the backround stand out. I mounted the piece on one of THESE cards after adding a black mat around it.

I created another card with the same design, but used a different color scheme and thin stripes. I didn't dry the stripes before adding the next stripe. I like the effect of the colors bleeding into one another...

That's all for today. Thanks so much for stopping by.

STAMPtember fun continued (plus GIVEAWAY)

Hello! I'm continuing the STAMPtember fun from THIS post and sharing a card using THIS stamp set that was released during the celebration...

I stamped the leaf image multiple times in a circle shape to create a wreath. I clustered the flower images towards the bottom and stamped the greeting in the center. The greeting is open so I took a black marker and did some quick coloring to make it stand out more. Leaving a bit of white around the edges tied in with all the doodle images. I stamped a smaller pattern image from the set in coordinating colors all over the background. I used THIS die to pop up the center and THIS die to create the green bordered background. I mounted the whole panel on a black note card.

So I wanted to continue the party and do a giveaway. I'm giving away THIS word die..

MFT Soda Pop Dies and Stamps

Hi there. Today I have a couple cards to share featuring THIS die and THIS stamp set by My Favorite Things...
Soda Pop Bottles Dies can be found HERE

Soda Pop Stamps can be found HERE
Aren't those adorable!? Here's the first card I created with them...

I stamped one of the images from THIS set repeatedly using different colors of Distress Ink. I spritzed the stamp a couple of times with water before stamping to achieve a watercolor look. I added some drops of water that I picked up with a paper towel, creating bleached spots. I die-cut the soda pop image from THIS foil cardstock and used THIS and THIS paper pad to die-cut the bottle labels. I used THIS die for the stars and added THIS and THIS on top for some dimension. I added some clear sequins and dots of glossy accents from the top of each bottle to tie in with the theme...
I masked off all the stamped areas and flicked on some Black Soot Distress Ink that I mixed with Perfect Pearls to add a bit of interest. I finished off the card by stamping a coordinating greeting and matting the piece with some of THIS fun paper. I adhered everything to a black note card. I love the shine...

I used the same technique for the second card but mixing up the color scheme...
I used the different bottle image die this time and added enamel dots to represent bubbles. I also used hearts instead of stars on the labels. I added a thin strip of the same glitter paper to tie in with the silver bottles...

I'm loving that color combo!

That's all I have for today. Thanks so much for stopping by!
