Simple Watercolor Cards

Hello. So I’ve been taking THIS class and learning so much. I made a couple of simple watercolor cards inspired by Laura Bassen‘s lesson on the second day of class…

I used a variety of Distress Ink colors and  painted on stripes of color on to a piece of watercolor cardstock. I dried each stripe before moving on to the next color. I used THIS favorite sentiment set and heat embossed a greeting. I kept the rest of the card simple with no embellishments to let the backround stand out. I mounted the piece on one of THESE cards after adding a black mat around it.

I created another card with the same design, but used a different color scheme and thin stripes. I didn’t dry the stripes before adding the next stripe. I like the effect of the colors bleeding into one another…

That’s all for today. Thanks so much for stopping by.

You did a great job with these, Heather! I tool the first water-coloring class through online card classes but never opted to take this one. Now you make me want to!
