Quick Crafty Tips- Die-cutting

Hi. Today I’m sharing another quick crafty tip about die-cutting. (If you’re new to my blog, click HERE to see previous Quick Crafty Tips.) Recently, I purchased THIS die…

Stitched Rectangles Die from Simon Says Stamp

The dies come attached so you have to snip each one apart with wire cutters. I needed the largest rectangle for a card so as I was ready to cut it, I stopped and took a second look. The dies are PERFECTLY spaced since they are connected. I thought they would make great frames, so I cut several out before cutting them apart…

I cut the majority of them out of white cardstock…
…so that I can ink them up to be whatever color I need…
Stacked shape dies are not the only dies that will work for this. THESE scalloped border dies are a great example of that. I created a card with them HERE and kept the dies together. It works great since they nestle in to one another. I encourage you to take a second look at your dies before snipping them apart to stretch the use of them.
If you’ve already cut some dies apart that would work for this, no worries. You can always use washi tape to hold them together…it just might be a little tricky to get the spacing perfect.
Thanks so much for stopping by!

Genius idea! I'm expecting these dies any day in the post and this is exactly what I will do with them before snipping them apart.

A great tip to leave the dies together . I have already cut mine apart but will be making some frames by spacing them myself on white and coloring them later with colors I need. Thanks for the idea.

I like to keep my nested dies attached for this very reason. Now what to do with all the extra frames I'm collecting! 🙂
