SSS July Card Kit

Hello! Have you seen the new card kit that was released today from Simon Says Stamp?

Simon Says Stamp was nice enough to send me one to play with and I love it! The colors are great. I’m a girly girl and love all things colorful and bright, but it’s also nice to have some products that would work for masculine cards as well. I’m surrounded by boys at my house so I’m happy to have some cards to give to them.
Here’s the first card I created…

As soon as I saw the life preserver image, I knew I wanted to have it “floating” in a window. I heat embossed the image on a piece of watercolor cardstock and colored it using THIS marker. I added glossy accents on top for a shiny look. I tied the jute that comes in the kit around the life preserver and adhered the ends between the layers of the window. I created a window with THESE dies.

I adhered a blue circle stamped with the wave image behind it for a pop of color and added a few dots of glossy accents around the card to resemble water…

A closer look…

Oh, and that circle on the inside is stamped with a thanks sentiment too. It’s hidden by the life preserver until you open the card…
I plan on giving this card to my stepson who has been such a help with his little brother. He’s the best!
For my second card…

I stamped the large sentiment repeatedly on a piece of watercolor cardstock uisng THIS ink and heat embossed it using clear embossing powder. I die-cut a circle from THIS and THIS die set. On the white circle, I embossed the paper clip that comes in the kit (after inking it with THIS ink) using THIS mat and my die-cut machine. This gives a faux letterpress look.

I stamped the solid heart in the kit using THIS new ink and adhered it using THIS adhesive. I finished off the card by stamping a coordinating sentiment under the anchor and adhering the panels to a blue note card made from THIS beautiful cardstock. Here’s a closer look…

There you have it… two different cards using the new July card kit from Simon Says Stamp. Click HERE for more info. on the kit.

wonderful cards…love the images in this stamp set and how you used them both as stand along images and also to create your own background.
