Mini Ink Organization (and Giveaway!)

I love to organize. I like everything to have a home and a label on it. So today I thought I’d show you how I store my mini ink pads. I recently found THIS container at Hobby Lobby and although it’s intended to hold stamps, I thought it might be a good home for all the mini inks I’ve been hoarding, I mean collecting.

Let me start by giving you the details on this container. It’s made by Cropper Hopper. It is called the Stamp Window. It has been on the market for awhile but new to me. The Dimensions are 10in H x 12in W x 1.5in D. It has a label on the spine and a plastic cover for easing viewing of the contents. There are four divided sections. It holds up to 48 of the mini ink cubes. It retails for $11.99 (but I used a 40% off coupon). I have one for all my Hero Arts mini inks…

  …and Mini Distress Inks…

Here is a closer look at the cover that comes off and how I store the inks in the different sections by color. Something to note-The inks will move around in the case. I purposely scattered some of the inks to show you that. I also turned some of the inks to show that it doesn’t matter which way they are put in. Once a section is full, there will be less movement. This doesn’t bother me. However, if it bothers you, you can always apply velcro to the bottom of the container and the bottom of the ink pad to keep them in their place.

Here is a closer look at the label on the spine. I printed off labels on my computer. (I used the American Typewriter font.)

Another great option for storing these Mini Ink Pads is THIS Tim Holtz Mini Distress Ink Storage Tin. The drawback to these tins (for me personally) is they only hold 12 ink cubes. I know my collection is going to grow and grow and want something that will accommodate that. I also place these containers in a large tote I carry to crops. They are flat and travel easily. Another reason I went with the Cropper Hopper container is price. It is a really good value because each container holds 48 inks.
So now it’s time to giveaway some of these favorite inks of mine…..
Leave a comment below and tell me your favorite storage item, tip, or idea. You have until August 1st at midnight to leave your comment and enter for a chance to win the four Hero Arts mini inks pictured above. Good Luck!
Thanks for stopping by! Happy Organizing!

cool, I use a flat plastic bin with a locking lid for my distress inks. I like to store my embellies in tiny plastic containers from the craft store by wood, bling, brads, etc.

This is an awesome solution! I have trouble organizing them in a way that they are are all visible and accessible so this is perfect.

I use the empty salad containers that are clear plastic to store my ribbons and trim…then I can see what I am looking for and my space is pretty with all the colors.

Great idea Heather. It looks like a nice storage solution. I have some smaller ink pads (mostly cats eye) I store in a shallow tupperware type thing.

Such a great idea Heather. I have all my inks in a storage unit I got from ikea which works for me as every drawer has it's own inks, stamps, ribbons etc. The items I use all the time are on my desk in their own little containers!

Thanks for this! I love this storage idea. I was thrilled to figure out that the mini ink blending tool foams fit nicely under the ink containers themselves, so I place mine tucked into the ink pad (underneath) and I always know where my foams are. They are right with the corresponding colors. Thanks for the chance to win!

I love my original 1970's six drawer cassette storage unit that holds 72 of my regular sized ink pads, arranged in neat rows on their sides. They sit on a portable island right beside me at my craft table

I WISH we had a Hobby Lobby here. I SO want these. I have been looking everywhere for a good storage container for my mini's and this would work PERFECTLY!!!!! Is there a HL near the Stamp Retreat? I could have someone take me in October. Right now my favorite storage container is an old tea bag storage box. I got it years ago. I keep it on my desk and put my most used items in it…like Clear blocks, embossing powder, wink of stella and stamps I plan on using that day. I love it. Everything is right there at my fingertips. I have my carousel on the other side. Works great!

My favorite storage item would have to be my carousel on my desk. It spins and has so much room for anything and everything and it sits right on my desk so I can easily access the things that I use most. I love your idea for these small ink cubes. My collection is starting to grow and I wasn't wild about the small size of the tim holtz tin case.

Very practical storage idea, Heather. I have an ink storage holder on my desk for my most used inks and I store my HA ink cubes in a small drawer unit. I agree with you that every item needs a designated home. I would add that keeping your most used items near your work area helps too.
