Welcome to my NEW Blog! (and Giveaway!)

Hello and welcome to my new blog, Handmade by Heather Ruwe! I’ve been wanting to create a new blog for some time and was thrilled when my sweet friend, Kristina Proffitt said she would help me. She did a great job on the design, didn’t she!?

So for my first blog post, I wanted to create a Thank You card for all of my readers/subscribers who have been so amazing over the last seven years. I hope you will continue this journey with me at my new home here.

The technique for this card came about by pure accident. I was trying to unclog my glossy accents and squeezed some out on a scrap piece of paper. When it dried, it looked kinda cool. So I did the same thing on a larger piece of cardstock and let it dry.

I then rubbed Salty Ocean and Peacock Feathers Distress Ink over the glossy accents pattern. The glossy accents resisted the ink and after spraying some water on top, gave it a cool watercolor look.

I finished off the card by stamping a sentiment from THIS favorite greeting set in black ink. I also added a few black enamel dots after adhering the panel at a slight angle on some black cardstock.

Okay, now for the giveaway. To celebrate my new blog, I will have a giveaway every day this week. All you have to do to enter is to leave a comment. You have until midnight on June 30th to enter.

Today’s loot that is up for grabs…

Three Distress Ink Pads!

Thanks for stopping by. Be back tomorrow with more cards and another giveaway…
